Grants for insulation - What you should know about claiming insulation grants ?

Picture
The 'grant' situation for insulation in Ireland can be a bit confusing in that there's no a one stop shop , a portal to go where all your questions regading insulation and grants can be answered in one 'fell swoop'. The simplest answer we can give when we're asked "What grants can I get?" is "It depends" . "Depends on what?"  you may ask . It depends on the applicant, whether they are an OAP , a home owner, a landlord, a developer etc and then the building itself and what works are proposed can also have a signficant bearing on what grant support you can claim.

So lets take a look now at what' s out there;

FOR SEAI GRANTS OUR CONTRACTOR ID IS ; 16152
  • The first and most obvious port of call is the www.seai.ie . The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland . If you click on this link you as a home owner can find out quickly what grants you may be entitled to . Here are some of prerequesites to claiming an insulation grant for your home;
  • The grant is only eligible for homes built before 2006
  • Grant approval must be in place before works commence
  • Grant works must be completed to SEAI standards by a SEAI registered contractor
  • Grant works, including a published BER, must be completed and paperwork submitted to SEAI within six months of the grant offer
